It leads to membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health at graduate level (Grad IOSH), an important step towards chartered status. The Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health is particularly important because employers have an ethical and legal obligation to keep their people healthy and safe. It covers health and safety management systems, hazards and risks associated with workplace activities, control strategies for managing health and safety risks, and reporting and investigating health and safety risks. With good health and safety management, the vast majority of occupational accidents and incidents of ill-health are avoidable. This depends on clearly communicated expert advice from appropriately qualified practitioners. This internationally-recognised, professional qualification helps managers and practitioners with specific responsibility for health and safety culture to develop a business case for investment in health and safety. Following the successful completion of a period of initial professional development, a graduate member may apply for chartered status (CMIOSH).   • Element 3: Assess various inspection techniques
    and their applications for mechanical equipments
  • Element 4: Assess the designs of tools, equipments or structures for their
    reliability for use in a given environment from an
    occupational health and safety perspective

    safety risks from electricity at the workplaces
  • Element 6: Assess the occupational health and
    safety risks from fire at the workplaces
